Dr. Merville Marshall is an award winning, Ivy League-educated, board
certified Endocrinologist. Born and raised in New York City, he attended
Bronx High School of Science and received his BA and MD degrees from Columbia
University. He received his Endocrine Fellowship training at the prestigious
National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. After his fellowship,
Dr. Marshall embarked upon a 30 year career in academic medicine, conducting
research, teaching medicine, fulfilling multiple administrative responsibilities,
and practicing endocrinology. He has most recently served as Associate
Chief, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism; Director, Diabetes Section;
and Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at New York Medical College.
He has earned numerous awards for excellence in teaching and has been
listed in numerous publications of "Best Doctors." He is highly regarded
as one of the best clinical practitioners in the field of endocrinology.
Dr. Marshall was recognized in 2002 by Aetna, Inc. as one of twelve leading
African-American physicians in the nation. He also provides expert medical advice to media venues such as The Oprah Tour, CNN, WBLS, national magazines and regional newspapers.
